How cool is it to go shopping and see one of your customers? We speak briefly but the coolest was that I noticed her wearing the earrings that I sold her. She passes by me and I say, "Hey, you are wearing my earrings." I have seen other people wearing my jewelry before. Usually people will put them on right after they buy them. Or some ladies who frequent the market will wear them to the market the next time they come. It's cool that it has been a while since she purchased them from me but that she was still wearing them and rocking them well. Thanks gurl. You make me proud. Yo!
I make jewelry with bamboo that I cut down, shape, sand and form into earrings and necklaces. I can color it or leave it natural. Each piece is unique and dictates to me what it will become. Because bamboo is sustainable, I think it should be used in more aspects of our everyday lives. So Banish the bling and choose to support green design.

Augusta Christmas Market
This saturday I will be downtown in the commons for the Christmas market. The hours are 10am to 7pm. I will have my tent set up and am thinking I better put the walls up because it is going to be cold. I will have my prices discounted to allow more room for the 2012 collection. Come and get your Holiday Gifts at the market. Hope to see your there. One love

Spotted
Yesterday I take my daughter her lunch because we didn't have time to make it before we left for school. Ok, sitting in the office waiting on her class to pass by and I can give her the grilled cheese, tater tots, mozzarella cheese stix, and a fountain drink. Sitting, sitting, sitting. Waiting, waiting, waiting. The lady who works in the office begins to tell me that she wants a necklace and earrings set, a gift for her co-worker. "You see," she continues, "We exchanged names and I wanted to get her something." I am following her but can't understand why she is asking me this because, "Do I know you?" my mind is questioning. Oh better question, "Do you know me?" Finally she explains that she saw me at the festival. Then she asks, "Oh, aren't you the one who sells the jewelry?" This response must have come from seeing the bewildered look on my face. Probably should have made this query at the get go. Any who, I meet another lady in the hall and we start talking and I made another connection. It is amazing how your reputation or shall we say occupation will follow you. No one has ever called me out like that. And I was just getting used to seeing people wearing my earrings. They are so unmistakable, even the kids will point them out and say, "Mommy she is wearing your earrings!" Must admit it is kinda fly to be noticed. Even more fly to be sought after. One day a lady came to my tent downtown and said, "I came down here specifically for you. I have $??$'s, what can I get? I don't know where this thing is going but it seems to be moving in a positive direction. Love to my hommies, peace to the people, rock on with ya bad self, bamboo jewelry. <3

Oval maddening Binge
Madd about the classic oval. A very popular shape that resonates with many of my customers. The bamboo is naturally round and hollow on the inside. Cutting it on an angle produces a great shape every time. Sometimes I have trouble getting the thickness the same. Fortunately a great piece of bamboo is forgiving and I can generally shape them up nicely when they go to the sanding stage. Making the correct selections and sizing the pieces all up require some finesse. I am a perfectionist and I want all of the earrings to appear uniform and professional. Hopefully if you have purchased a pair of my earrings you feel that you received a good deal and a work of art. Take a look at what has come out of the shop.Yo!

What's new?
I have been working....................working............not really working my but off but I will be soon enough. I was notified recently that my submission for the Arts in the Heart of Augusta application was accepted. This is a big festival that is held every September here in Augusta. I didn't realize until I read the information contained in the vendor application but the arts and crafts vendors are judged and prizes are awarded to the winner. It is a three day event and I need to get my g-a-m-e ON! I need supplies, beads, lots of ear wires, ideas, late nights burning the midnight oil and then some, color combinations, you name it, I'm gonna need it. Pray that the force is with me. You never know, this may be my big break to blow UP! I always try to do my very best at whatever I do but my whole entrepreneurial career may be on the line here, gotta pull out all the stops. Here are some of the latest pieces to come out of the workshop.
Check in with my blog to see what is new, or come down to the Saturday market.

Thank you Brooke and Margaret for allowing me to participate in the market. It has been so much fun. I really enjoy all of the talent represented there and being a part of it. Thanks to all the customers who have come through my booth for all the love. I forget names but I never forget a face. Thank you for supporting me and wearing my art. The summer line is bright and bold. Lots of color, lots of shapes and lots of flavor. <3 One customer says, "Your summer line is slamming!" Thanks gurl! Luv Yo!

To all of You!
I have neglected to update my blog on the regular but felt that I should pay it a visit. Lately I have been preoccupied with other things because Life Happens. I haven't forgotten about all my people who have supported my jewelry line and been so enthusiastic. I do this for you, because if there was no U there would be no me. I would like to take this time out to give honorable mention to a few key persons who always encouraged me when I didn't even encourage myself. First of all to Tiny, you know who your are. You believed that I could sell my jewelry back in the day when I was making it just for fun. It never dawned on me to take it to the next level but you put me on blast and got my things noticed. Meka, you not only promoted my trinkets but you bought as much of it as you could. You really did put your money where your mouth was. You put me on blast, sold things for me, told people about me and never stopped. Terahn you are always putting the word out there not only about me but for everyone in the Circle who have talents, similar interest, etc., etc., etc. With your network of professionals we will never have to go outside of the circle for anything. Also you rock the heck out of anything Purple, so I got you! Kaye I know you are down for Pandora and all that glitters, but thanks for thinking of the little man on the totem pole and adding a little soul with your Bling! Karsyn, Thanks to the little princess for always knowing what's hot! Finally Kristena, girl you betta get those flag bags ready for the flag earrings cause we are going to blow Up the Diaspora Spot on the real. Noel and Joy are my little models and even when they don't feel like taking pictures they seem to pull the top model out of thin air. You girls have the It Factor. Luv and Peace Always from my hands to your Heart. <3

Happy New Year!!!!
Happy New Year friends and family. I have greater aspirations for the bamboo jewelry line. I am interested in doing more promoting in 2011 and doing more markets and events. Here in Augusta there is a Saturday market for artisans and the well known Arts in the Heart of Augusta which I am planning to participate in during the month of September. I would like to travel and host jewelry parties because one on one sales and marketing is a great tool for aspiring designers. Also for 2011 I plan to grow some bamboo on our property. This strategy will bring the idea of sustainability closer to home. I have a great spot already picked out and will begin planting some bamboo as soon as the ground thaws a bit. Adios
